A non-CS can be got in great condition for a fourth the price. No matter what you're paying, though, I cannot say anything bad about an 8-Series.

10 grand is what I'm budgeting for in case I ever do pull the trigger and grab one. Seen 840s as low as 5500 here.

It's just that....ugh, I want it but I'd never feel like I could really use it for its intended purpose. It's a GT car. I could never fully trust it long enough for a good long weekend trip. As a Sunday morning coffee getter it lacks enough theater, so it'd be shit at that as well. And at 40k, you can buy a newer SL that's faster and actually less complicated..
